About Us
The Trenchard Partnership is a husband and wife team with a wide range of experience in family history research.
Mike Trenchard FIAM started researching his own family in the 1960s
when original census books could be handled. His
research has taken him to record repositories in London and to many
county record offices. In the 1980s he found that his research took him
to the College of Arms where the family he is descended from are
registered from the 13th century. Mike has registered a continuation of
the pedigree at the College to his current family. He is a member of the
Society of Genealogists and an Affiliate of AGRA (Association of
Genealogists and Researchers in Archives). Mike has been included in the
approved Independent Researcher List for the National Archives in the
UK. He has also been included in the approved Research Agent List for
the British Library, Asia, Pacific and African Collections dealing
primarily with the records of the East India Company and the India
Office. Mike used to own a company specialising in
association management where attention to detail was all important.
Sue Trenchard MCLIP has been a professional librarian for many years in a variety of sectors, although much of her career has been spent in the education field. She is a member of CILIP. Her library skills are invaluable in searching for records.
